MIXED MATCH FILM SCREENINGS

After a very successful World Premiere at the 35th Vancouver International Film Festival, Mixed Match will be continuing its film festival tour across North America.

Director, Jeff Chiba Stearns will be travelling to each of the screening with Athena Asklipiadis, founder of Mixed Marrow and the main subject of the film. We will be present for all the film’s Q&A sessions. As well, we’ll be holding stem cell drives at each of the screenings in case people would like to sign up to their national registries.

Please help us by sharing on social media and if you’re in a city where the film is screening please come join us and bring your family and friends! Thanks!

    Hi,
My name is Kat Ying, I’m a co-host of a radio show called ‘in the motherhood’ on CKUT community radio in Montreal.
We air every third Wednesday of the month and examine parenting in Montreal through a feminist lens.
I am also mixd race and have been wrangling together other grown mixd children and also parents of mixd children for a show this January the 18th.
I would love to air some audio clips from your documentary, and if it is possible to speak to someone on the phone about this project and the issues.

I hope to hear from you soon

    Hello Jeff.
I was informed today by Canadian Blood Services that you are the recipient of the 2017 Schilly Award. That is wonderful.

As you may have gleaned from my surname, I am a relative of Nick “Schilly” Schilbach. In fact, I am Nick’s father. Both Dianne (his mom) and I, as well as our other two boys Adrian and Tyson wish to extend our congratulations on your award and our deepest gratitude for creating such an important film.
Awareness is so important. Once achieved, people will respond.

Thank you so much for your work and dedication and to all of those who have played a part in this important project. Oh, and please give Athena a huge hug.

    sincerely,
    Jurgen Schilbach
